Thales is delivering solutions to some of the most complex challenges faced by the Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Army, and the Canadian Coast Guard. One of these solutions concern the refit, repair, maintenance and training of both Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships (AOPS) and Joint Support Ships (JSS), known as AJISS.

We are looking for products and solutions to revolutionize the supply-chain, installation, monitoring, maintenance, refit and life extension of maritime systems and services for vessels.

Wanted

Canadian Small and Medium-size Entreprises that have experiences in one or several of the following activities:

  • Design, delivery, operation and/or support of robust arctic communications services and systems, for ships or land operations. There is a special interest in software that controls and manages communications for arctic operations
  • On-board, topside, and hull-mounted electronic systems or with any of the RCN's Minor Warships and Auxiliary Vessels fleet is of interest
  • Augmented reality for low, medium, and or high fidelity simulation. Target use case is military vehicles and related assets. Interest in both the operational context and maintenance context
  • Design, delivery, operation and or support of robust arctic communications services and systems, for ships or land operations. There is a special interest in software that controls and manages communications for arctic operations
  • Winterization of special-purpose land vehicles for the Canadian climate. Special interest in the conversion of right-hand drive to left-hand drive vehicle

Projects you could be working on

Automation and decision aid in support of cost-effective marine in-service activities including:

  • Supply-chain, maintenance operation, repair and overhaul, testing and evaluation, life-extension, logistics and planning support related to vessels technologies and sub-systems
  • The extension of their lifetime and in-service support productivity improvements based on data analytics; predictive maintenance

More specifically:

  • Ship In-Service Support in the Hamilton/St. Catherine's area. Modifications, maintenance, repairs, monitoring, etc of the commercial ship as a platform and its systems
  • Reverse engineering and obsolescence management for electronic and electro-mechanical systems and equipment
  • The ability to replace an undocumented circuit board or electro-mechanical assembly with a form, fit, and function equivalent
  • Secure WiFi for confined areas like ships
  • WiFi performance in terms of throughput and local connectivity that is cyber safe for sensitive but unclassified information exchange, And suitable or could be made suitable for arctic operation
